Christ triumphed over death and thereby opened the doors of heaven. At Sunday Mass we remember in a special way this great joy. The Paschal Candle represents the light of Christ risen and will remain on until the day of the Ascension, when Jesus ascends to Heaven Lights.
The Resurrection of Jesus is a historical fact, whose proof among others, are the empty tomb and the many appearances of Jesus to his apostles.
When we celebrate the Resurrection of Christ, we are also celebrating our own liberation. We celebrate the defeat of sin and death.
In the resurrection we find the key to the Christian hope: if Jesus is alive and is with us, what we fear ?, What can we worry?
Any suffering acquires meaning in the Resurrection, because we can be sure that, after a short life on earth, if we have been faithful, reach a new and eternal life, where we will enjoy God forever.
St. Paul tells us: “If Christ had not risen, our faith would be vain” (I Corinthians 15:14)
If Jesus had not risen, his words had been in the air, his promises have remained unfulfilled and hesitation that was really God.
But, as Jesus himself was raised, then we know that conquered death and sin; know that Jesus is God, we know that we will rise too, know who won for us eternal life and this way, our whole life becomes meaningful.
The Resurrection is a source of deep joy. From it, Christians can not live with sad faces. We have raised face, show the world our joy because Jesus has conquered death.
The Resurrection is a light to men and every Christian must radiate the same light to all men by making them partakers of the joy of the Resurrection through his words, his testimony and his apostolic work.
We must be truly happy for the Resurrection of Jesus Christ our Lord. In this Easter season begins, we must use all the graces that God gives us to grow in our faith and become better Christians. Let us live deeply this time.
With Easter Sunday Easter season begins, when we recall the time Jesus remained with the apostles before ascending into heaven, during the feast of the Ascension.

When Jesus went to heaven after his resurrection, the early Christians set a time of year, Lent, forty days before the Passover feast, in which all Christians must make sacrifices to cleanse his soul. One of these sacrifices was not eating eggs during Lent. Then, on Easter Day, left their homes with baskets of eggs to give to other Christians. All became happy, then remembered that the eggs were celebrating Easter, the Resurrection of Jesus.
One of these early Christians agreed on Easter day, what did the Egyptians came to paint the eggs would give. In other Christians loved the idea and followed suit. Since then, give away colored eggs at Easter to remember that Jesus was resurrected.
Gradually, other Christians had new ideas, how to make chocolate eggs and candy for gifts at Easter. They are those who give away today.
